The Ford GT90 was a concept car introduced by Ford in 1995. It was designed to be a modern interpretation of the iconic Ford GT40 and was meant to showcase the brand's engineering capabilities and vision for the future.
The GT90 boasted a striking and aerodynamic design with sharp lines and a low, sleek profile. Its body was made primarily of carbon fiber and aluminum, contributing to its lightweight construction. The car featured a distinctive forward-slanting front grille, large air intakes, and gull-wing doors, adding to its futuristic appearance.
Under the hood, the GT90 was powered by a groundbreaking quad-turbocharged V12 engine, which was capable of producing an astounding 720 horsepower. This immense power output allowed the car to reach impressive performance figures, with a top speed projected to exceed 250 mph (400 km/h) and a 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) acceleration time of less than four seconds.
The interior of the Ford GT90 was equally futuristic, featuring modern and minimalist styling with high-tech instrumentation and comfortable yet sporty seating.
Despite its astonishing performance and captivating design, the Ford GT90 never made it to production. It remained a concept car and served as an inspiration for subsequent Ford performance models like the Ford GT, which was eventually released in the mid-2000s as a limited-production supercar paying homage to the original GT40.
